WHME-TV 46 TO CARRY INDY ELEVEN
(South Bend) – WHME-TV 46 announced today it will carry 17 Indy Eleven soccer games live this season, in partnership with WISH-TV in Indianapolis.
The South Bend station begins broadcasting games Saturday night, April 8 at 7 p.m. when the Indy Eleven entertain the Oakland Roots FC.
“We know that Michiana has a great and supportive soccer community,” states WHME-TV 46 sports director Chuck Freeby. “As we look to grow and diversify our TV-46 sports programming, this just seems like a natural fit.
The on-air duo of play-by-play man Greg Rakestraw and color analyst Brad Hauter will call the games. It’s their tenth season together in the broadcast booth. The TV-46 schedule consists of 15 Saturday night games between April and October, as well as two Wednesday night games on July 12 and August 9.
“Our goal has always been to serve as Indiana’s Team, and thanks to this partnership with Circle City Broadcasting and WHME-TV 46, more Hoosiers than ever before will be able to watch and follow their Indy Eleven,” said Greg Stremlaw, Indy Eleven President and CEO. “The club and our fans know they are watching the premier local broadcast in the USL Championship when they turn on an Indy Eleven game.”
WHME-TV 46 has served as the premiere Michiana station for local sports programming for over 30 years. Indy Eleven games are the latest addition to a roster that includes high school football and basketball, Bethel Pilots basketball, and now a high school spring sports package that begins April 14.
