History

WHME TV has a long history of being an integral part of the South Bend community. WHME TV began broadcasting in 1977 as a part of the LeSEA Broadcasting Network founded by Dr. Lester Sumrall. It is a full power television station and can be seen over-the-air on Channel 46, Comcast Cable Channel 11, and on Dish Network Channel 46. Their coverage spans a viewing audience of northern Indiana and southern Michigan. In 2024, WHME became an affiliate station of Univision. Univision is the most watched network among U.S. Hispanics and has some of the leading Spanish language content. WHME is always striving to make a difference in the lives of every member of the South Bend community.
